- Image display, quality control and interpretation work flow.
Workshop: 5 hrs.
Details:
Image processing workflow and dip picking using software. Good quality borehole image will be used, as an excellent case studies, in which revealing most of geological features that can be seen on a borehole image i.e. Fractures, Faults, Bounding planes, Cross bedding, Breakout and Drilling Induced Fractures..Etc.
During this part, attendees will learn:
- How to process borehole image using the software.
- How to display static & dynamic images and the dip tracks.
- How to perform interactive dip determination.
- How to display dip in Streonet, histogram and rose diagram.
- Introduction to borehole image advanced applications.
Exercises & Guided Practical: 3 - 5 hrs.
- Exercise 1, 2: Dip patterns identification.
- Exercise 3, 4: Sedimentary structures interpretation.
- Exercise 5, 6: Fault and Fracture dip orientations.
- Overall course review, open discussion and answering questions.
